By the end of the series-spoiler alert, we suppose-she marries Edward, has his baby (who ends up with Jacob, in a plot thread that is better left un-remembered), and becomes a vampire herself. While there is technically a love triangle at the center of the series, with Bella also exploring her feelings for “nice guy” werewolf Jacob Black ( Taylor Lautner), there is never any doubt that she is committed to Edward. ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, Meyer has taken the tale-in which a human girl named Bella Swan (played by Kristen Stewart in the films) falls deeply, madly, and maddeningly in love with vampire Edward ( Robert Pattinson)-and flipped the genders of the leads. No, Meyer has not provided us with a straight-up sequel, nor has she delivered the long-rumored spin-off from vampire Edward Cullen’s point of view. “Oh, so, like, an epilogue?” Twihards across the land are no doubt Snapchatting each other with quizzical selfies this morning. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Twilight franchise, author Stephenie Meyer has gifted us with a surprise: a new installment of the series. ![]()
